Splish Splash - Busch Gardens!

We are back from a great trip to VA! We celebrated Alejandros last weekend in the country with a trip to Busch Gardens. Its been Years since Dan and I have been and I must say this was a very different experience for both of us! We both found out we are not as young as we used to be and roller coasters of that magnitude are no longer at the top of our "to do" list! To make up for that fact of course we had an awesome time watching Scarlett explore, dance, laugh and play at the park! She met Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster all in one day! She also rode several rides all by herself without any hesitation. She had a wonderful time, and even caught an hour nap in the stroller (which by the way, she is WAY too big for!) She told us that her favorite part was "seeing Elmo" and "Driving there". Although I dont completley agree with the latter we are so glad she had the time of her life.....all 3 years of it! :)

She also had her last gymnastics class this past week and put on a great performance for Mom and Dad. We have had an unbelievable summer together and are very excited about her 2nd year of Preschool. She cant hardley wait to get back and learn (and play) with her new teacher and friends!

Super Summer Fun!

As you may have noticed we have officially used up all our space on our baby website, and will not be officially "blogging" about our life and everything in it! It seems to be fitting that we are no longer using a baby site, since our angel is definitly no longer a baby. She has grown into a stunning beauty, with a carefree, imaginitive state of mind. She fills our soal everyday with joy and laughter. It is true that we cannot remember anything about life before our irreplaceable Scarlett Brook joined our lives.

We have had a SUPER fun filled summer and hopefully I will be able to figure out how to properly post pictures. This month alone: We attended and were part of a beautiful wedding. Congratulations to Heather and Kyle! We are having a wonderful visit with our cousin Alejandro from Guatemala showing him all the museums and aquariums that NC have to offer and this weekend we will be going to Busch Gardens VA for a little fun in the sun.

I have registered Scarlett for her next year of dance. (minus mommy! :)) This one will conclude with a recital in May!! She will also be attending preschool 2 mornings a week again at The Memorial Baptist Church. She is beginning to express interest in soccer so I have a feeling that may be our activity for next summer while school and dance are out of session. (Uncle Jeff should be very happy, and Mommy is just waiting for the right time to make her move on promoting the cheerleading!)
Enjoy the last few weeks of summer because fall weather and CLOTHES are right around the corner!!

Happy 3rd Birthday Scarlett

Welcome to our new Family Blog! I have high hopes of keeping this updated on a regular basis and I have high expectations that it will be a bit easier to update than my past baby website. If you have been following us on our old website or even if you havent, you may know that today was a very special day for our little family. At 2:01pm Scarlett turned 3 years old. She had a funfilled day beginning with a very special breakfast including heart shaped muffins, eggs and fruit. We headed to the movie theater for her first movie experience to watch Curious George. After getting over the fact that the room was "very very dark, Mommy" She calmed down enough to enjoy the movie and continuously ask "what is George doing Mommy". Lunch was at Chilis and then after a little rest and some gifts Vacation Bible School rounded out the evening. I have to say I have certainly never felt a love like this before and cant even really explain it, except to say Thank you God for allowing me to be her Mom, I am forever grateful.

The summer is in full swing and after a few trips to the beach in May we are highly anticipating a trip to the Ashboro Zoo next week and a week at Topsail island in July. We hope you will continue to check in with us as we share in our daily happings at The Jenkins Junction. ;)
